Today let's talk about Belgian side KV Kortrijk. For those who don't know, Kortrijk have three goalkeepers under contract.

Sometimes it's very obvious who is the number one goalkeeper, in Kortrijk there is no doubt Marko Ilic is the 1st goalkeeper.
One of the few u23 gk options in Belgium, Marko Ilic is playing a very solid season. (u23 status finishes this summer).
Ilic came to Belgium two years ago. At that moment he was playing already for two seasons as a 1st gk, in the Serbian 1st Superleague.
They brought him in to give competition to Adam Jakubech, which they had on loan from Lille. Jakubech played the 2nd half of the season before as 1st gk. Already having experience as the U21 keeper from Serbia, it didn't take that long until he actually won the battle for 1st gk against Jakubech and played since november that season all the matches in the league. Jakubech went back to Lille last summer and they brought in Joris Delle. Normally you would expect signing a gk is to bring competition to the 1st gk, but in this case it was very clear Delle would become number 2. Very experienced goalkeeper in France, Belgium, Holland and even South-Africa, but for the last 5 years as
the 2nd gk in all the clubs he played for.
Although it's very clear this season who is number 1, that might slightly change next season. Kortrijk already signed Vandenberge from 2nd division team Deinze. An ambitious goalkeeper (although already 29 years) which will give decent competition to Ilic. Would seem logical that Ilic stays the 1st gk in the club, and Vandenberge will be number 2.
Something which will happen this or next season, if he keeps performing, is a transfer for Ilic.
Contract till 2024, if they want money for him, should be this or next summer. A young talented goalkeeper, who also already has a senior appearance for the Serbian national team, it would make sense clubs will be interested this summer.
If he leaves, not sure the club will count on Vandenberge as their 1st gk, and for sure there must come someone to give decent competition (not Delle), only rumour till now is Gillekens from Mouscron, but half of the Jupiler Pro League seems interested in him.
Maxime Deman still has a contract till 2023, with an overbooking of keepers next season it will not make it easier for him to gain experience. Not completely sure Delle stays, even though he still has a contract, no reason to have four keepers in the squad.
